ratification of the AIVP Agenda 2030

Riga, 7 June 2019 - The Worldwide Network of Port Cities (AIVP), which brings together 1,900 people from the private and public sectors across all continents, has signed the 10 commitments that make up its 2030 Agenda. As the only international network working on urban and economic development and reducing the environmental impact of port cities, AIVP will thus contribute to the UN's Sustainable Development Goals.

"To have a good city-port dialogue, the citizen needs to be well informed"

In an interview with, Olivier Lemaire, general director of the AIVP, said that "in Riga we are going to present the New Agenda 2030 of the AIVP that was presented at the conference in Quebec, for which - on this occasion - we are going to show the new signed version, so the entire conference will revolve around the themes of this agenda.”

The organisation behind an ambitious global initiative to implement major environmental changes to achieve sustainability in port cities by 2030 faces one of its biggest challenges this year in co-ordinating how its many diverse participants can achieve change.
